The fifth grade students participated in a program called Spaceworks Academy presented by Caroline Goode. The students viewed a slideshow that introduced the History of Spaceflight. After a brief demonstration, the students participated in six Astronaut Training Sessions involving activities that model the actual training of a NASA astronaut. After the training sessions, the students worked in teams to design a mission patch that represented their mission. Mission #1- Return to the moon to begin building a moon colony. Mission #2- Rendevous with a comet on your way to the moon.
