GRADE FIVE
In the second term, students focused on Physical Health. During the term, students concentrate on two specific units Nutrition / Fitness and Growth and Development. Nutrition / Fitness ~ Students learn how to read food labels, the food pyramid, and they learn the relationship between nutrition and fitness. Students end the unit with the Innovative Food Project. Working in small groups, using the information they have learned, students create a food of the future that does not exist in today’s world. Students present their products to the rest of the class. Growth and Development ~ Students learn the major bones and muscle groups of the human body. Students will distinguish the characteristics of living and non-living organisms.
