LOCKS OF LOVE

On Tuesday, December 4th, Rising Tide Charter Public School hosted a Locks of Love “cut-a-thon” at the school. With music, balloons, food and a lot of cheering, students, teachers and family members of students had their hair cut by 4 stylists who generously donated their time. Fourteen participants donated 214 inches of hair. Locks of Love uses donated hair to make wigs for children who have lost their hair to illness or various chronic conditions. It was a great afternoon!

CROP WALK
On Sunday, October 28, students and staff members from Rising Tide joined individuals from many other organizations in Plymouth on the CROP Hunger Walk (Communities Responding to Overcome Poverty).  All the volunteers worked together to raise money to help fight hunger and poverty around the world, as well as support the Plymouth Area Food Warehouse and the Coalition for the Homeless.  Walkers from Rising Tide enjoyed a 3.5 mile loop through town on a crisp autumn day, and raised over $1,100 to fight hunger and poverty.
