The 5th Grade students at Rising Tide have been busy working on an interdisciplinary service-learning project revolving around the topic: ENERGY. As students continue to explore our guiding question "What is my place in the community?" they have begun to see the relationship between the energy choices made today and how these choices affect the community's future. Students conducted research and created news articles, comic strips, and sketches for this web page to learn about the following:
Recognize how energy affects their daily lives.
Understand the changes in energy usage throughout history.
Identify ways to use energy more responsibly and teach others how they can make changes.
Identify the consequences associated with the many types of energy.
Practice using a public voice in our community.
Identify a problem, formulating a solution and taking action.
