FAMILY AGREEMENT

Enrolling at Rising Tide Charter Public School is a choice. It is important for you and your child to review the Welcome Packet to make sure that Rising Tide is the right choice for your family and your child. Each student and each of his or her parents/guardians must sign at the bottom indicating that your family understands and agrees to the following:

1. We understand and agree with the mission and the goals of Rising Tide Charter Public School.

2. We understand that the school community is centered around the principles of Honesty, Trust, Respect and Responsibility, and agree that all members of the school community should be expected to follow our Community Standards of Behavior at all times.

3. We understand that every student must attend school regularly and must arrive on time, and that proper attendance is the responsibility of each student’s family.

4. We understand that Student/Advisor/Parent Conferences occur twice a year, in November and April, and that it is mandatory for each student and at least one of her or his parents/guardians to attend each conference.

5. We understand that, at Rising Tide, increasing responsibility is placed upon the student from 5th through 8th grade. We agree that it is important to develop good habits in order to become successful students and successful members of a community, and will work with the faculty and staff from the school to help develop good habits for success.

6. We understand that any student can succeed if he or she tries his or her best, and that it is important for students and families to have positive attitudes about school. We will strive to find the positive in every situation and overcome any challenges that may arise.

7. We understand that everyone makes mistakes, and that if a student makes a mistake, it is essential to be honest about his or her actions and learn from the mistake.

8. We trust that the faculty and staff at Rising Tide Charter Public school work hard to fulfi ll the school’s mission and goals, and agree to communicate directly with the faculty and staff at the school if we have questions or concerns.

9. We agree to read the Rising Tide Handbook at the beginning of each school year to review the most current expectations and policies.

10. We understand and agree that we are making a commitment to join the Rising Tide Charter Public School community, and that the full educational and communal benefi t to each child is achieved after completing the four-year program.
