FAMILY RESOURCE GROUP

The Rising Tide Family Resource Group, open to all parents, teachers and staff members in the school community, meets periodically throughout the school year to support:

* One another as middle school parents
* Our middle school kids and their time at school
* The work of the school community (family events, school events for students, school-based initiatives)

In September, the Family Resource Group met to discuss the transition for students to Rising Tide and the challenges to parents in support of children in middle school.

In December, we met to discuss the school community’s approach to bullying prevention as well as a draft of the Bullying Prevention and Intervention Plan.

Topics for future meetings, suggested by parents and teachers include:

* Nutrition and wellness
* Promoting curiosity and motivation
* Keeping up with media and technology
