Rising Tide faculty and staff are very grateful to those of you who brought in food for our Teacher Appreciation Luncheon last Wednesday!

Prefix of the Week: “Mis-” Ask your children about this; we’ve been discussing it at morning meetings.

The next Early Release Day is next Wednesday, November 26th. School will be closed next Thursday, November 27th and Friday, November 28th for Thanksgiving Recess.

UPCOMING EVENTS

GOALS Club will meet this Tuesday, November 18th at Rising Tide to work on survival skills. Parent pick up is at 5:30 pm.
This Tuesday, November 18th, there will be a parent and student meeting at 6:30 pm at Rising Tide regarding the Latin trip to Rome in February.

Basketball: Boys will practice this Wednesday and Friday until 5 pm. There will be no Girls Basketball practice this week.

Games Club will be held this Friday until 4 pm.
The next Special Education Parent Advisory Council (SEPAC) meeting will be held this Friday, Nov. 21st at 3:30 in the Learning Center at Rising Tide.

Glynn Electric is collecting Thanksgiving food donations for families in need. Rising Tide families may drop off the following items here at the school’s front office by November 20th (note the date change): canned vegetables, aluminum turkey roasting pans, cornbread or stuffing mix, dessert mixes, yellow onions and 5 LB bags of potatoes. They are also seeking volunteers to help put boxes together on Saturday, November 22nd from 1:30-4 pm. Please call Heidi Walsh at 508-732-8933 for more details if you plan to volunteer.

Save the Date: Rising Tide will host Muffins for Moms on Thursday, December 4th at 7:30 am. Coffee, juice and water will also be provided. This is a great opportunity for us to show our appreciation for your generous support, and to allow you to observe your children in a classroom setting during the first period of the school day. Donuts for Dads will be held on March 25th.

Spread the word: Rising Tide will host an Open House on Saturday, December 6th at 9 am for new families interested in learning about our school. We would be grateful if you would kindly pass along the attached flier to friends and neighbors, and share your thoughts about us.

Reminder: A change of name was approved at the last PTSA meeting, and the organization will now be known as Rising Tide Friends (RTF).

Thank you to those parents who sent in your delicious soups and sandwiches for the Teacher Appreciation Luncheon last Wednesday. And a special thank you to Panera Bread at Colony Place for all the wonderful pastries and cookies donated for dessert. And speaking of Panera Bread....

SAVE THE DATE: Panera Bread Fundraising Night - On Sunday, December 14th from 5-7pm, Rising Tide Friends will be hosting a fundraising night with Panera Bread at Colony Place where 15% of total sales generated from patrons who bring in a Rising Tide flyer will be donated to our school. Show your community spirit and join us for an evening filled with raffles, good food and Rising Tide Friends. Further information to follow in upcoming Monday Memos.

Independence Mall Evening for Charities - Tickets are still available for the Mall Charity Night on Sunday November 23rd from 6:00 - 9:00pm. You can contact Debbie Luongo at luongox5@comcast.net to purchase tickets or you can stop by the front desk at school. Tickets are $5 each and 100% of the proceeds goes to Rising Tide. Please see attached flyer for additional information as well as store discounts.

Gillette Stadium Fundraiser - We still have several openings for volunteers to work the Patriots vs. Steelers game on Sunday November 30th at 4:15pm. Open to parents, family, friends or neighbors over the age of 18. Please contact Debbie Luongo at luongox5@comcast.net if you would like additional information about this event or would like to volunteer.

School Spirit Store - The school store will be open this Tuesday and Thursday during homework hall.

Thank you for your continued support of our ongoing BoxTops, Shaws Receipts, and Ink and Toner Cartridge fundraisers. We are happy to report that Cheryl Soares will be the new coordinator for the Campbell Soup fundraiser. More information regarding this program to follow.
