HOW YOU CAN HELP TO RAISE THESE FUNDS:
* Make a donation to the RTF
* Participate in our fundraisers and "Off the Hook" in March
* Box Tops For Education - Rising Tide families can turn in General Mills Box Tops for Education to earn cash for RTCPS. Kindly send them with your child to his/her advisory. Website: www.boxtops4education.com
* Collect Tyson labels to earn cash for RTCPS. Visit www.ProjectAplus.tyson.com
* Target Card - We've discovered a terrific way to raise funds for our school. Every time you use your Target Card or Target Visa Card we will receive a percentage of the amount of each purchase in the form of a cash donation from Target through the Take Charge of Education Program. GILLETTE STADIUM FUNDRAISER:  Thank you to those parents and their friends who volunteered to represent Rising Tide and worked at Gillette Stadium on Sunday, October 26th.   We have been offered the opportunity to work two upcoming Patriots games, Thursday, November 13th at 8:15pm against the Jets and Sunday, November 30th at 4:15pm against the Steelers.  To learn more about this opportunity and/or to volunteer please email Debbie Luongo at luongox5@comcast.net

PANERA BREAD FUNDRAISER:  The PTSA will possibly be sponsoring a fundraiser at the Old Colony Place location of Panera Bread on Sunday, December 14th.  More information will follow about this event.

FAMILY PIZZA NIGHT:  The RTF will possibly be sponsoring a family pizza night on Friday, March 6th, 2009.  Like the ice cream social in September, this will be another opportunity for Rising Tide families to come together at the school for a free piece of pizza and some socializing.  Donations of raffle items, pizzas and volunteers will be needed.  If anyone has any suggestions or can assist further with this event please contact Debbie Luongo at luongox5@comcast.net.  More information about this event will follow.

SHAW’S RECEIPTS, BOX TOPS, TONER CARTRIDGES and TARGET REWARDS:  Thank you to all who have been sending in Shaw’s receipts, Box Tops, used toner cartridges and using your Target VISA card.  Cristina Amatucci, coordinator for the Shaw’s receipts and Box Tops fundraisers and RTF treasurer reported the following:  RTCPS will earn approximately $470 from the Shaws receipts collected so far, the approximate amount for the December check from the Box Tops collection will be $654, used toner cartridges have brought in $40 so far this year and a check for $113.71 for the Target VISA card program was received.  Also, Office Depot offers 5% to a shopper’s school of choice when they sign up for and present a school donation card whenever shopping at Office Depot.  The school donation card is not a credit card but simply a card that identifies the school the shopper would like the 5% of their purchases donated to.  Additionally, we would like to re-start the Campbell soup labels fundraiser however we need someone to coordinate this collection.  If you are interested in handling this please contact Debbie Luongo at luongox5@comcast.net

RECESS EQUIPMENT UPDATE:  Previously $200 was appropriated for the purchase of recess equipment.  To date 12 kick balls, 8 footballs, and 18 jump ropes have either been received or ordered.  $50 remains to be spent and Cristina Amatucci will contact Mrs. Peterson, the gym teacher, to discuss further needs and purchases.

SCHOOL SPIRIT STORE:  Students have expressed a desire for different spirit items for the school store.  $300 was appropriated for the purchase of some drawstring sport packs.  Cristina Amatucci will further look into the ordering of this item.

PTSA NAME CHANGE:  Because we are a small parent group and the expense involved, the decision was made not to join the national PTA/PTO organization.  As a result, a name change removing “parent” and “teacher” from our organization’s name needed to be decided.  The new name, Rising Tide Friends (RTF) was voted on and approved by all present at the meeting.

NEXT RTF MEETING:  The next RTF meeting will be held on Wednesday, December 3rd at 7pm.  All parents and students are invited and welcome to attend.
