Rising Tide Friends

MISSION STATEMENT
The purpose of the Rising Tide Friends (RTF) shall be to provide the close cooperation between parents, teachers and students:

• By engaging in fund-raising activities to generate funds for additional student and teacher requests.

• By providing forums and opportunities for communication among parents, teachers and students.

RTF Meetings are held the first Wednesday of each month at 7:00PM at the school. Parents and students are invited and encouraged to attend. If you cannot make it to the meetings but would like to volunteer or help out kindly contact one of our officers.

TEASURERS REPORT: As of the end of January 2010, the balance in the RTF-PTA account was $6,416.43.

A vote was taken and funds were unanimously approved for the following:

$945.00 to Marisa Burgess to fund an Energy Project, Beautification Committee and Senior Citizens Project;

$175.00 table registration fee at Jungle Plex for Moms & Dads Kids Expo;

$221.00 To Kerry Peterson for jump ropes for Jump Rope Discovery;

$250.00 to Nancy Doyon for Math Night; and

$250.00 for “Off The Hook” mailing supplies and postage.

FUNDRAISERS: Updates on ongoing fundraisers were given. A second Bag-2-School drive is being considered. “Off The Hook” mailings will be sent out in March. There was a consensus that we will set about fundraising with a “light” approach for the remainder of the school year.

It was decided that the next Teacher Appreciation theme would be “Soups, Sandwiches and Sweets”.

Jill Crafts gave a brief update of the plans for the High School expansion. The Site Committee continues to work on finding an appropriate location.
